About
Hi, I’m Jelmer Snoeck, a Canadian software engineer living in Squamish, BC.
I write about distributed systems, Kubernetes, and (more recently) agent identity and the security shape of AI infrastructure. I work at Keycard, where we’re building a control plane for autonomous AI agents: identity, policy, scoped credentials, audit. Before that I spent a lot of time in Kubernetes and platform engineering.
If you’re new here and want to start somewhere:
- From Desired State to Negotiated State. Why the control loop that built Kubernetes doesn’t fit agents, and what replaces it.
- Agents Are Not One Thing. The word “agent” covers at least four different systems with very different risk shapes. A vocabulary for telling them apart.
- Deploying Rock Solid Applications with Kubernetes. The operational checklist I wish I’d had earlier.
